Crystal Tea Cup
Cups carved from a single block of natural stone rather than thrown in clay. They are heavier than a ceramic cup, they hold heat differently, and the walls are thick enough that the stone's pattern runs right through the piece rather than sitting on the surface as a glaze would.
What to know before buying
These are carved objects, so every cup is slightly different in weight, wall thickness and pattern, and the one you receive will not match the photograph exactly. Capacity is on each product page — most stone cups hold less than a standard mug because the walls take up space.
They are meant for tea and for drinking, not for decoration only. But stone is not ceramic: a stone cup will crack if you pour boiling water straight into a cold one. Warm it with hot tap water first, the way you would a teapot.
Care
Hand-wash in warm water with a mild soap, and dry it rather than letting it drain. No dishwasher — heat cycles and detergent will dull the polish and can crack the stone. Do not microwave. Do not use it for strongly acidic drinks: several stones, including anything with calcite in it, react to acid.
What this is, and what it isn't
These are drinking cups carved from natural stone. Crystals have a long place in tradition and in ritual practice, and that is the spirit in which we sell them. There is no peer-reviewed evidence that any stone treats, cures or prevents a medical condition, changes your finances, or alters the physical energy of a room. Drinking from a stone cup does not put anything from the stone into the drink, and nothing on this page is medical advice.
