Pyrite Crystal
The Pyrite Crystal Collection — bracelets, trees and pyramids in natural pyrite, the mineral known as Fool's Gold.
About the stone
Pyrite is iron sulphide, FeS₂. It grows in near-perfect cubes with flat, striated metallic faces, which is unusual enough in nature that a pyrite cube is often mistaken for something man-made. The metallic gold colour and lustre are why it fooled prospectors, and why it has been kept near money and trade for centuries. Its streak — the colour it leaves scratched on unglazed porcelain — is greenish-black, while real gold streaks gold. That is the definitive test, and it costs nothing.
What Calminds does to it
- Reiki-charged: every piece is cleansed and charged by Usui Reiki Grandmaster Sweeny Panjrath before dispatch. That is a service we perform, not a property of the mineral.
- Natural pyrite, checked in-house: we source natural, high-grade material and check every piece before it ships.
- Forms: trees for a desk, pyramids for a shelf or Vastu placement, bracelets to wear.
The tradition
Pyrite is the stone traditionally kept where money is handled — a cash counter, a desk, an office. That association is old and it is widely shared across trading cultures, and it is the reason this collection exists. It is a tradition, not a mechanism, and we are not going to dress it up as one.
Which form of Pyrite should you buy?
The bracelets in this collection do different jobs. The Pyrite Bracelet (8mm round) is the everyday classic and the usual first pyrite piece. The Natural Raw Pyrite Bracelet uses uncut flat slabs, so you can see the natural cubic faces — the choice for people who want the stone to look like a mineral rather than jewellery. The Money Magnet Bracelet is a multi-stone blend that pairs pyrite with citrine, tiger eye, green aventurine and golden hematite in one piece.
For décor rather than wear, the Pyrite Energy Crystal Tree and the Pyrite Orgonite Pyramid are the two most chosen.
Before you buy — the one care rule that matters
Pyrite is iron sulphide. Moisture and oxygen slowly convert it to iron sulphate and sulphuric acid, which collectors call pyrite decay — white powder, a faint sulphur smell, crumbling edges. Never soak pyrite, never use salt water, take a bracelet off before washing your hands, and store it dry. Kept dry it lasts indefinitely. Our full pyrite mineral guide explains the chemistry, the streak test for spotting fakes, and which form suits which purpose.
Pyrite FAQs
How do I know my pyrite is original?
Real pyrite is heavy for its size, pale brass-gold, not magnetic, and leaves a greenish-black streak on unglazed tile. Light, very yellow beads are often painted plastic.
Which hand should I wear a pyrite bracelet on?
Tradition suggests the left wrist for prosperity intentions. See our guide on which hand to wear a pyrite bracelet.
Can a pyrite bracelet get wet?
No. Water and damp cause pyrite to tarnish and decay. Keep it dry.
Where should I keep a pyrite tree or pyramid?
By tradition, on a work desk, cash counter or in the north or south-east of a home in Vastu practice.
What this is, and what it isn't
Pyrite is a natural iron sulphide mineral. Crystals have a long place in tradition and in ritual practice, and that is the spirit in which we sell them. There is no peer-reviewed evidence that any stone attracts money, changes your finances, shields you from anything, or alters the physical energy of a room. Nothing here is financial, medical or mental health advice. Please never borrow, invest or make a business decision on the basis of a crystal.
