FAQs
Are Calminds Crystal Trees made with natural stones?
Yes, Calminds Crystal Trees are handcrafted using authentic natural gemstones carefully selected for their beauty and uniqueness.
Where should I place a crystal tree?
Crystal trees can be placed on work desks, office tables, living room shelves, bedside corners, or meditation spaces to enhance décor and create a calming atmosphere. Our Vastu placement guide covers direction-by-direction detail.
Are crystal trees good for gifting?
Yes, crystal trees make thoughtful gifts for birthdays, housewarming occasions, festivals, Diwali gifting, and mindful home décor lovers.
Which crystal tree is best for home décor?
Popular choices include Amethyst, Rose Quartz, Pyrite, Green Aventurine, and 7 Chakra Crystal Trees, depending on your décor style and personal preference.
How do I clean a crystal tree?
Dust it with a soft dry brush or cloth. Avoid water on trees containing pyrite or selenite — both are damaged permanently by moisture. Our guide to cleansing and recharging crystals covers which stones tolerate water.
Is every crystal tree unique?
Yes, since natural stones are used, every crystal tree may vary slightly in colour, texture, and appearance, making each piece one of a kind.
Crystal meanings described here come from traditional beliefs and spiritual practices. They are not a substitute for medical, financial or mental health advice.
Which crystal tree should you choose?
Most people arrive here knowing they want a crystal tree, but not which stone. The simplest way to decide is to give the tree a job — the room it will sit in, and the intention you want it to stand for. Here is what customers most often pick, and why.
- For calm and a quieter corner — Amethyst Crystal Tree. Purple amethyst is the traditional choice for bedrooms, reading nooks and meditation corners. If you want the same stone as a floor-standing statement piece, see the Grand Amethyst Crystal Tree (3 ft, 5000 beads).
- For a wealth intention on a desk — Natural Citrine Crystal Tree. Golden citrine is the stone traditionally associated with abundance and is the usual pick for a work desk, cash counter or office table.
- For luck and growth — Green Aventurine Crystal Tree (25 cm money tree). Green aventurine is traditionally linked to opportunity and new beginnings, which is why it is the most common housewarming and new-business gift in this collection.
- The all-rounder, if you cannot decide — 7 Chakra Crystal Tree with Orgonite Base. Seven stones in one tree, so it is not tied to a single intention. It is also our single best-selling piece, which makes it the safest choice when you are buying for someone else.
- For protection and grounding — Black Obsidian Crystal Tree. Black obsidian is the traditional protective stone, and the dark beads work well against light walls and pale shelves.
- For prosperity, in metallic gold — Pyrite Wealth Tree with Orgonite Base. Pyrite has a genuine metallic lustre rather than a painted finish. Note that pyrite must be kept completely dry — see care below.
- For love and softness — Rose Quartz Crystal Tree. Pale pink, the traditional stone of the heart, and the usual anniversary and wedding-gift choice.
- For clarity and a neutral finish — Clear Quartz Crystal Tree. Colourless beads suit almost any interior, which makes it the easiest tree to place in a shared or formal room.
- For an evil-eye tradition — Evil Eye Tree. A nazar-style piece for entrances and hallways, following the widespread Indian custom of placing protection near a doorway.
Two other stones worth knowing about: the Rainbow Moonstone Crystal Tree has a soft blue sheen that catches lamplight, and the Red Jasper Crystal Tree is a deep brick-red that suits warm, wood-toned interiors.
Care and everyday use
Never wash or soak a crystal tree. This is the single most important thing to know. A crystal tree is not one solid object — it is hundreds of chips threaded onto fine wire, twisted into branches, and set into the base with adhesive. Water travels into the wire wraps and into the base glue, and once it does, the wraps loosen and the trunk starts to lean or shed beads. Rinsing a tree is the most common way customers damage one.
Dust it dry instead. Use a soft dry make-up brush, a clean paintbrush or a blast of air from a hand blower to lift dust out from between the beads, then wipe the base with a dry cloth. Do this every few weeks and the tree stays bright indefinitely. If a branch has drooped, bend it back gently with your fingers — the wire is meant to be reshaped.
Pyrite in particular must stay dry. Pyrite is an iron sulphide, and moisture makes it dull and eventually causes it to break down at the surface. A pyrite tree should never be wiped with a damp cloth or kept in a bathroom or on a humid windowsill.
Keep it out of long, direct sun. Amethyst and rose quartz both pale with prolonged direct sunlight — the purple goes greyish and the pink washes out toward white, and the change is permanent. This matters because the popular advice to "charge" crystals on a sunny windowsill will slowly bleach exactly these two stones. Indirect daylight is fine; a south-facing window ledge all afternoon is not.
And on selenite: if you also own selenite pieces, note that selenite is gypsum, Mohs hardness 2, and is slightly soluble in water. It should never be washed, worn in the shower, or left anywhere damp — it goes chalky and flakes apart. Wipe it dry only.
Placement. Trees are top-heavy, so keep them away from the edge of a shelf, out of reach of small children and pets, and off surfaces that get knocked. A stable shelf, a study table or a console in the living room all work well.
Frequently asked questions
Are the stones natural, or dyed?
The stones in these trees are natural chips, not dyed glass. There are two easy checks at home. First, look at the colour across the whole tree: natural stone varies bead to bead — some chips darker, some paler, some with visible internal lines — while dyed material is uniformly, flatly the same colour throughout. Second, look at the chipped edges and any drill holes: on dyed stone the colour often pools darker in the cracks and looks thinner on the flat faces. Bright, unnatural shades such as neon blue or hot pink are almost always dyed in the wider market.
Do I need to cleanse or charge the tree, and how often?
In crystal and reiki practice it is customary to cleanse a piece when it first arrives and then periodically — many people do it monthly, or on a full moon. For a tree, the safe methods are the dry ones: incense or sage smoke, sound, a few hours of indirect moonlight, or resting it beside a selenite plate. Do not use water, and do not use direct sunlight. This is a tradition people follow rather than a requirement, and nothing is proven to change about the stone.
Which direction should I place a crystal tree in, as per Vastu?
In Vastu practice, the north and north-east are the directions usually associated with wealth and flow, so citrine and pyrite trees are commonly placed there or on a desk facing that way. The south-east is the traditional placement for prosperity in many households, and the entrance area is the customary spot for protective pieces such as an evil eye tree. Our Vastu crystal tree placement guide goes direction by direction. These are traditional conventions, not rules.
Are crystal trees a good Griha Pravesh or Diwali gift?
Yes — they are one of the most popular gifts in this category in India precisely because they read as décor first. A crystal tree needs no upkeep, works in any interior, and does not assume anything about the recipient's beliefs or practice. For a housewarming or Griha Pravesh, green aventurine and the 7 chakra tree are the usual picks; for Diwali, citrine and pyrite. Every tree ships in packaging suitable for gifting.
What size and height should I expect?
Most trees in this collection are desk and shelf scale — roughly 20 to 30 cm tall including the base, with the exact height listed on each product page. The exception is the Grand Amethyst Crystal Tree at around 3 feet, which is a floor or console piece rather than a desk one. Because each tree is hand-wired, height and spread vary slightly between individual pieces.
What is the orgonite base, and does every tree have one?
Several trees in this collection sit on a moulded orgonite base — a resin base with metal shavings and stone chips set into it, which gives the piece weight and stability. Others sit on a natural stone or agate slice base. The base type is stated on each product page. Whichever base a tree has, it is bonded with adhesive, which is the reason the whole piece must be kept out of water.
Will my tree look exactly like the photograph?
Close, but not identical. Every tree is hand-wired from natural stone chips, so the bead colours, the spread of the branches and the shape of the base all vary a little from piece to piece. The stone type, bead count and approximate height will match what is listed; the exact arrangement is unique to your tree.
