No. This version is defined by its flat oval slab beads, while the regular Lapis Lazuli bracelet uses faceted 8mm beads.

Is this real lapis lazuli, and how can I tell? +

Lapis lazuli is not a single mineral but a rock. The blue comes from lazurite, the white marbling is calcite, and the gold flecks people take for gold are pyrite. The classic source is Sar-e-Sang in Badakhshan, Afghanistan, worked for over six thousand years. Real lapis shows uneven blue with some calcite and scattered pyrite. Dyed jasper sold as 'Swiss lapis', dyed howlite and reconstituted lapis pressed from powder are all common.

How should I look after this bracelet? +

It is soft — Mohs 5 to 5.5 — and the calcite in it reacts badly to water and acids. Take it off before washing your hands, and keep perfume and cleaning products away. On a stretch bracelet the elastic is what fails first, not the stone, so roll it on and off rather than stretching it wide, and take it off before showering.

Does this bracelet improve communication or wisdom? +

No. Lapis lazuli is traditionally associated with that, and the tradition is genuine and often very old, but there is no scientific evidence that any stone can improve communication or wisdom, or that it produces any physical or psychological effect.
