Which stones are in this bracelet, and are they real?
Black tourmaline's mineral name is schorl — the iron-rich member of the tourmaline group, a complex borosilicate. Rose quartz is quartz coloured pink by microscopic fibrous inclusions — electron microscopy has identified fibres of a dumortierite-like mineral running through the crystal. All are natural stone rather than glass or dyed substitutes, and because they are natural the colour and pattern vary from piece to piece.
How should I look after a multi-stone bracelet?
Treat the whole piece as being as delicate as its most fragile stone, which here is rose quartz. Rose quartz fades with prolonged direct sunlight and does not recover. Bright indirect light keeps the colour. On a stretch bracelet the elastic is what fails first, not the stone, so roll it on and off rather than stretching it wide, and take it off before showering.
