Know More About This Product

Description

A set of two tea light holders in angelite set in orgonite, in the soft pale blue the stone is known for. Lit, they give a gentle rather than a bright light.

About the stone

Angelite is the trade name for a pale blue form of anhydrite — calcium sulphate without water, which makes it the dehydrated relative of gypsum. That matters practically: anhydrite slowly takes up water and reverts toward gypsum, so angelite must be kept dry or it will go chalky over time. It is also soft, around 3 to 3.5 on the Mohs scale.

The tradition

Angelite is traditionally associated with calm and with quiet communication, and it is a common choice for a bedside or an evening wind-down. That is the tradition it is sold in.

How to Use

Place a tea light in each holder and light it. Suits meditation, prayer, or simply unwinding before sleep. Let them cool fully before moving.

Care — read this one

Keep angelite dry. It is soft and it reacts to moisture over time. Wipe cooled wax out with a dry cloth, never a damp one, and keep it out of a bathroom.

What this is, and what it isn't

Angelite is a natural anhydrite, set here in resin. Crystals have a long place in tradition and in ritual practice, and that is the spirit in which we sell them. There is no peer-reviewed evidence that any stone brings tranquillity, aids communication, or creates emotional balance. Nothing here is medical advice.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is this real angelite, and how can I tell? +

Angelite is a trade name for anhydrite — calcium sulphate without water, the dehydrated relative of gypsum. Mohs 3.5. Its pale blue-grey is soft and even, often with fine white veining. The name angelite is a modern coinage rather than an old one, and we would rather say so than let it suggest more history than it has.

How should I look after these holders? +

This is the critical one: anhydrite reacts with water and will slowly convert back to gypsum, so water genuinely damages it. Never wash it, never soak it, and keep it out of damp rooms. It is also soft enough to scratch very easily. Heat and stone are a poor combination: let each holder cool fully before moving it, and use a tealight in a metal cup so wax does not soak into the stone.

Do these holders aid angelic communication or calm? +

No. Those associations belong to modern crystal practice rather than an old tradition, and there is no scientific evidence that any stone can aid angelic communication or calm, or that it produces any physical or psychological effect. Nothing here is medical, psychological or financial advice. What it honestly does is remind you of something you decided yourself.
