What the seven chakras are
The chakra system comes from tantric and yogic tradition, where seven centres are described along the body from the base of the spine to the crown. The colour sequence everyone now knows — red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, violet — is much more recent than the tradition itself: it was mapped onto the chakras in the twentieth century by Western writers borrowing the rainbow spectrum. Worth knowing, because it is usually presented as ancient.
A seven-chakra piece sets one stone per colour in sequence. That is the design logic, and it is why these pieces look the way they do.

Care
A seven-stone piece mixes hard and soft stones, so it is only as durable as its softest bead. Take bracelets off before the shower and the gym, keep them out of prolonged sunlight since several of the stones fade, and wipe with a soft dry cloth.

Usually one stone per colour: red jasper (root), carnelian (sacral), yellow jasper or citrine (solar plexus), green aventurine (heart), sodalite or blue stone (throat), lapis or amethyst (third eye) and amethyst or clear quartz (crown). Exact stones vary by design.
