Clear quartz, and the real physics behind the claims
Clear quartz is silicon dioxide, Mohs 7, and it has one genuine, technologically important property: it is piezoelectric. Squeeze a quartz crystal and a voltage appears across it; apply a voltage and it deforms. Cut a plate to size and it vibrates at a precise frequency — which is exactly how a quartz watch keeps time and how a radio holds a channel. Real physics, in real devices.
It is also the origin of nearly every claim that quartz amplifies energy, and it does not support them. Piezoelectricity needs mechanical force or an applied voltage. A chip wired to a branch is not oscillating, and nothing is being amplified. We give you the real property, and then say plainly where it stops.
What orgonite is — the honest version
Orgonite is metal and crystal cast in resin. The name comes from "orgone", a universal life energy proposed by Wilhelm Reich in the 1930s. Reich's claims were investigated, no such energy was ever demonstrated, and a US federal injunction in 1954 barred him from selling the devices built on it. Orgonite as a cast object appeared in the 1990s on the back of that idea.
What the base genuinely does: at 3 cm it is small, so its density is what keeps a wire tree from tipping. That is the job, and it does it.

Care
- Never rinse or soak it. This is a wire-and-adhesive tree — water works into the wraps and the base and loosens them, usually permanently. Dust dry with a soft brush.
- No solvents on the resin base; they cloud it and it cannot be polished out.
- Resin yellows over years of harsh UV, so keep it off a hot windowsill.
- Lift by the base, never the branches. The wire holds whatever shape you bend it into, so a tree compressed for shipping opens out by hand.
